Trial lot of sodium thiocyanate

We have received a trial batch of Sodium Thiocyanate. Sodium Thiocyanate is a colourless, hygroscopic crystalline substance with an orthorhombic lattice. It is readily soluble in water. At temperatures above 30.4°C, sodium thiocyanate crystallises from water as the anhydrous salt; at lower temperatures, it crystallises as the dihydrate NaCNS·2H2O. When heated above its melting point, it can decompose into sodium cyanide (NaCN) and sodium sulfide (Na2S).
Sodium Thiocyanate is used:

• as a reagent for dyeing and printing fabrics;
• as a reagent in photography;
• in analytical chemistry as a reagent for the photometric determination of Fe, Co, Mo, W and other ions;
• for producing other thiocyanates;
• for preparing spinning solutions in the production of acrylic fibres;
• as a defoliant and desiccant for lupin;
• as a concrete admixture.
