Which are suitable for winter wheat

Basic application (autumn)

Phosphorus-containing grades are used first of all — diammonium phosphate and monoammonium phosphate. They lay down the energy of tillering and development of the tillering node. If needed, ammonium sulfate or ammonium chloride is added to them for a nitrogen background, if the preceding crop was not a fallow.

Early spring feeding

Fast nitrogen release is needed here. Sodium nitrate and urea give a starting boost to growth at the first positive temperatures. Urea is often applied on frozen-thawed soil to minimise losses.

Second and third feedings (stem elongation — heading)

Urea and monopotassium phosphate as tank mixtures supply the ear with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium during the critical period of forming productive stems.

Sulfur and magnesium correction

Ammonium sulfate and magnesium sulfate are applied selectively: according to the results of agrochemical analysis, they increase the weight of 1000 grains and the protein content of the crop.
