Litharge lead F-2 is technical lead oxide PbO, produced under GOST 5539-73. Grade F-2 indicates specific requirements for appearance, content of the main substance, metallic lead, lead dioxide, iron, water, volatile substances and residue on sieves. When purchasing, it is important to check not only the name but also the quality certificate, because similar litharge grades can differ in particle size, shade, activity and behaviour in a production formulation.
Litharge lead F-2 is stored in an unheated warehouse, in sealed factory packaging and protected from moisture, contamination and container damage. Packages are placed on pallets, separately from acids, food raw materials, open containers and materials that could contaminate the batch. For a wholesale buyer, preserved labelling, quality certificate, production date and observance of the guaranteed shelf life are important. Residues from different batches should not be mixed without control if colour, dispersion and composition stability matter for the process.
Litharge lead F-2 contains lead compounds, so working with it requires strict personnel protection measures. When decanting and dosing, a respirator, safety goggles, gloves, protective clothing and exhaust ventilation are used to reduce contact with dust.
