The premium grade of sodium fluorosilicate differs by a higher content of the main substance and stricter requirements for some impurities. In the specification for the premium grade, the mass fraction of Na₂SiF₆ is regulated at not less than 98%, for the first grade at not less than 95%. The tolerances for water, insoluble residue and individual impurities also differ.
Technical sodium fluorosilicate is stored in a dry, unheated warehouse, in sealed factory packaging and protected from moisture. Bags are placed on pallets, separately from acids, food raw materials, open water and materials that could contaminate the batch. The product is classified as hazardous, so access to the storage area must be restricted, and personnel trained in the safe handling of fluorine-containing reagents. For a wholesale buyer, the quality certificate, labelling and packaging integrity are important.
